The wagon needs new rubber - 205/70/15 6" rim. Relegated to Jags and 90's thunderbirds these days.
Anybody running 185 or 195 14" on their 240s and know of something cheap-ish that isn't too wallowy?

I kinda dig the Dunlop SP65's, they have a tread that looks good, seem to have a bad rep though.

I'm pretty happy with my Yokohama S-drives on the 945, 205-60-15 (91T). I don't remember what I paid, but I've never felt bad about buying them.

Fairly stiff sidewall, that and some minor alignment adjustments and I'm really not having the understeer, caveat being they need plenty of air, they don't like to run soft.

Compound is slightly sticky, therefore they wear. Looks like I'm gonna average about three years on 'em.

Main benefits: Grippy, good in the wet, and handling was vastly improved over the Bridgestone G-grids they replaced. Fairly quiet, directional tread, good looking tire.

Drawbacks: They were probably not a bargain tire, but I didn't go nutz... maybe I can dig up the receipt. Shorter sidewall versions are markedly stiffer, but these aren't bad.

I would definitely haz again.

Buy the semi knobby postal truck take offs like Andy does.
The proper Vanagon tires are spendy.
