First time I've had this happen, thought it noteworthy.

I replaced all the vacuum lines in the 945 three years ago, cloth braided from FCPG.

Brick was slightly sluggish the past couple days, last night on the way home from the Hill I started getting backfires.

How can this be thinks I?

Manifold to CBV line was toast, literally. Broke into pieces as I was removing it.

Dunno if it was bad hose, or what... Greatest fail was where it passed over the valve cover and near the exhaust manifold.

I know it gets warm there but sheesh, three years.

Proving once again that stage zeero is never permanent, and failures can occur even where you knew you were good.

Time for silicone lines I guess.

Wow, never seen a vac hose fail so miserable in 3 years Shocked I use reinforced silicon hose for vacuum / pressure lines, they seem to hold up just fine (even the ones between my turbo and APC)

That's the kicker about stage 0. The smallest thing makes it not stage 0. Even when you fix it, you're still just back to stage 0.

I can't wait to get past stage 0, 'cause then even if something breaks and sends you to stage -1, as soon as you fix it you blow right by stage 0 and back to stage 1 (or 2, 3, ...)

^this is the right attitude, keep your car and engine maintained. When you get it right you just need normal maintenance to keep it there. Of cause higher stages means more maintenance, but also more fun and less frustration.
